Don’t Listen To Others

That Tell You What You Can and Cannot Do

Hello World and Happy Day My Friends πŸ’—

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!

People drive me crazy…

Why on earth do some people feel they have the right to tell you what you can and cannot do????

It seriously pushes my buttons big-time!!! 😫😠😑..

Everyone I know knows about the van living life I’m about to embark on, they all know I’m a tree hugging, dirt loving nature freak and they all know I’m disabled too πŸ€”

Yet why on earth would anyone try to tell anyone that because of a disability or weight issue that they shouldn’t or can’t do something they love… like hiking??? 😠..

Yes I’m disabled… Yes I have rods that hold up my big old head because I have no vertebrae in my neck, yes I have limited mobility in my neck and spine because of having to have 12 spine surgeries… Yes I have MS and although I don’t have a weight issue, I’ve been sitting on my ass since my son passed away and I am way out of shape…

But what’s that got to do with what I want to do and enjoy doing?

NOTHING!!!!!

It drives me insane when people ASSUME that just because someone may have a disability, may have a weight issue or are out of shape that they can’t do certain things…

There’s no size limit to hiking and there’s no signs that say if you’re disabled you cannot hike this trail…

WTF PEOPLE!!! 😠..

So I decided that after receiving my stickers from a couple accounts that I follow on IG @unlikelyhikers & @mtnchicks (that I will proudly put on my van πŸ˜‰)…I was gonna do a shout out to all the people out here that think or have been told that they can’t do things they want to do because others think they can’t or because they are disabled or are not in tip top shape..

DO IT ANYWAY!!!

If it’s something you love doing, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t..

Sooooo don’t ever let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do… Go out and do whatever it is that you truly want to do!!!πŸ’—πŸ˜‰πŸ’—…

Don’t Compare

Just Be Real

Hello World and Happy Day My Friends

Yesterday a couple organizations that I follow on IG and whose blogs I follow, had a really big controversial comment debate about diversity, including everyone and how there are so many orgs that say they embrace diversity, are inclusive and believe in equality for everyone, yet their pages and what they post only show the “bright” side of things..

They never show the “real reality of things” they only show the fluff πŸ€”

And although I chose not to partake in the debate, I actually agree with the comments that were made πŸ™„

Social media does have a way of hiding the real deal and although I do not hide my feelings about anything on my page or in my blog, most do only show the fluff, leaving out the struggles and issues that we all face in life πŸ€” whether it be about van life, camping, hiking or whatever…

People tend to make things look like they are perfect when in all reality we know life isn’t perfect.. and no matter what there are struggles, breakdowns, breakups etc..πŸ™„

My point in all this is…

Don’t compare yourself to anyone, don’t hide who you really are and if you’re an organization that says that you embrace diversity then SHOW IT…

Say what you mean…

Mean what you say…

And when it comes to social media…

SHOW that you’re real don’t just talk about it…

Talk is cheap as we know and actions do speak louder than words…

So just be real people…

It’s not hard to do!!!
